Copel Making Competition

QUICK BITE -

The XI Arts students and the Promote Value Club organised a Copel Making Competition on 24th June 2026 on the theme, “The Bosco: Crown of Wisdom.” The competition, held as part of the Sao Joao celebration, aimed to help students understand the life, teachings and values associated with St. John the Baptist, while encouraging them to express their creativity and craftsmanship through unique, eco-friendly copels inspired by nature, festivity and Goan culture.

The competition was open to all students, who enthusiastically participated by creating a variety of colourful and imaginative copels. The beautifully crafted copels were displayed along the corridor, accompanied by traditional festive sweets and fruits, creating a vibrant Sao Joao atmosphere.

Adding to the festive spirit was a lively performance of the popular Goan song “Goycho Sao Joao” by the students of XI Arts and XII Arts. Manjiri and Danielle of XI Arts delivered an informative speech on Sao Joao, highlighting the life, teachings and values of St. John the Baptist.

The entries were judged by Teacher Jenifer, Teacher Aditi and Teacher Maria on the basis of creativity, originality, eco-friendliness and neatness. After careful evaluation, Jonathan Rodrigues of XI Commerce B secured First Place, while Ashton Dias of XII Commerce B won Second Place. Valanie Miranda of XII Commerce B and Belicia Godinho of XI Arts jointly secured Third Place.

The celebration concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Tamatur Cardozo, who encouraged the students to cherish the values of faith, creativity, community and respect for nature.
