QUICK BITE -
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim, organised an Inter-Class Debate competition on 19th July 2025 in the bicentenary hall, from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm. The event aimed to enhance students' critical thinking, communication skills, and confidence, while encouraging healthy competition and public speaking. Students from the respective classes welcomed the sessions and introduced the judges, Mr. Johaan da Silva, Ms. Shania Andrade and Ms. Sneha Pai. The moderators for the event were Tr. Bianca Fernandes, Tr. Astrid Furtado and Tr. Aditi Nayak. Who adeptly guided the debaters to adhere to rules and promote meaningful discussions.
A total of 10 classes participated with each team comprising 4 members. The event was structured into five sessions, each featuring a different thought-provoking topic:

Throughout the competition, the speakers demonstrated remarkable oratory skills, backed by research and passion. The rebuttal rounds were particularly engaging, as teams confidently countered their opponents’ arguments with precision and logic. The judges further enriched the sessions by posing challenging questions and sharing valuable perspectives. At the end of the event the overall winners were declared as class 12 Arts, with class 11 Science B being Runners-up. The top three Orators were awarded to Miss Eesha Kamat from 12 Arts, Miss Kanishka Naik from 12 Arts and Mr. Atharva Mantri from 12 Commerce B. The debate competition was a grand success and served its purpose of promoting thoughtful discussion, collaboration and intellectual growth among students. The teachers in charge were Tr. Cheryl Martins, Tr. Aditi Nayak, Tr. Astrid Furtado and Tr. Bianca Fernandes.
