Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim, marked the 11th International Yoga Day on the 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm, promoting health, mindfulness, and unity among students and faculty. The event witnessed active participation from 570 students across Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Don Bosco College, Panjim. The theme for this year was “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”.
The celebrations commenced at 6:30 a.m. in the Don Bosco A.V. Hall, where students gathered to watch the live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Yoga Day event in Andhra Pradesh, inspiring them with the significance of yoga on a global scale.
From 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m, Don Bosco College, Panjim BPEd Yoga Instructor Shri. Prathamesh Salgaonkar, along with alumni Ms. Shimron Nathan and Mr. Sankalp Sanjay Naik, conducted an engaging yoga session, demonstrating key asanas and emphasizing the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. The students actively participated, learning techniques to enhance their well-being.
The event was gracefully hosted by Std XII Arts student Ms. Tanvee Morey, who introduced the instructors, while Std XII Science B student Mr. Shourya Sanjay Gandhi delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event a success.
A second session was held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Bicentenary Hall, ensuring wider participation and reinforcing the school’s commitment to fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle among its students.
The celebration not only highlighted the importance of yoga but also strengthened the spirit of discipline and harmony within the Don Bosco community. The event concluded on a high note, leaving students motivated to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.
