A quiz was organized at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panaji, to commemorate the European Day of Languages 2024. The event, held on September 27, 2024, was conducted by the Discipline of French and Francophone Studies, Goa University, with Mr. Anthony Gomes, Assistant Professor of French, serving as quiz master, supported by Ms. Kshama Dharwadkar and Ms. Jemima Fernandes, both Assistant Professors of French at the university.
Tr. Josefa Pinto, teaching French at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, welcomed the faculty and the 106 students of French to the fun quiz day held in the school premises. The teacher briefly highlighted the scope of the French language and what programs the Goa University has to offer in this regard.
The Discipline of French and Francophone Studies at Goa University, offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. programs in French, regularly and undertakes initiatives such as this quiz aimed at enhancing language skills. This not only deepens the students' understanding of the nuances of French but also emphasizes the importance of language as a bridge in a multilingual world.
Prizes were handed over to the winners of the quiz and a token was given to every student.
To conclude, Tr. Josefa appreciated and thanked the team for the encouragement given to the students to take up the language as a passion or a career in the near future
