On August 8, 2024, Fr. Jason Coelho and Fr. Banzelao Texeira were the resource persons for an orientation program arranged for the staff members of the school.
Fr. Jason conducted a very interactive session on the topic “Endearing Presenceâ€. He stressed on the importance of the teacher’s presence whether it is in the classroom or the playground. Fr. Jason reflected on the endearing presence of St. John Bosco among his boys and how it created his first oratory and a strong bond between them. This taught us that our presence not only makes a difference but it prevents unwanted behavior. “Be there for every student, understand them and find the goodness in each of them†he said.
Fr. Banzelao had a well animated session on Don Bosco’s style of accompaniment. Fr. highlighted the key qualities that are needed in educators for a healthy and wholesome development of the student.
1. The educator should be approachable with an air of psychological maturity
2. The educator should challenge the student to reach that edge.
3. The educator has to gain the student’s confidence for him to be trusted.
4. The educator should help the student overcome crisis, make firm decisions, be committed to themselves and their future and all this while they are exposed to a healthy learning atmosphere.
The resource persons were each, formally introduced and presented with a token of appreciation. At the end, Tr. Bianca Fernandes proposed the Vote Of Thanks
