Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim organizes Inter-class Sports Festival
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, organized the Inter-class Sports Festival on 16th and 17th December 2022. A mega event with Futsal, Handball, Basketball and Tug of war held with much robustness and vigor, in order to strengthen bonds, inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and to participate in all events with loyalty and true spirit of sports. In all 10 teams participated in each event and72 matches were played in a knockout format for 2 days.
Fr. Joaquim Lobo sdb, Director of Don Bosco College, Panjim was the Chief Guest on 16th December. He declared the Sports Festival Open and encouraged the students to do their best with grit, determination and perseverance.
Both the days were animated with Zumba sessions – a dance warm-up exercise for 30 minutes. On 16th December, Zumba session was organized by our very own students and on 17th December, Ms. Cecille Rodrigues and her energetic team took over.
On 17th December, Mr. Irwin Cordo, the Assistant Director (Coaching) at the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of Goa was the Chief Guest. Mr. Cordo was impressed with the talent displayed and urged the students to pursue their dreams in sports.
The sports festival was officiated by the B P Ed trainees of Don Bosco College, Panjim along with the staff of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School. Class XII Science B was declared the Sports Champions 2022 – 2023. Overall, the Annual Sports Festival was a huge success and a testament to the school’s commitment to promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship. The event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their talents, develop teamwork skills and have fun with their peers. The program ended with a vote of thanks and singing of the National Anthem.
