Career guidance Programme


The Science Department of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim, organized a career guidance session on January 7, 2023. Various informative sessions were planned for the students.

A team of experts- Dr. Anand A. Mahajan, Associate professor (Pharmaceutical analysis) at Goa College of Pharmacy, Panaji; Dr. Yeshudas Muttu, Assistant Professor in the Electronics and Telecommunication Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda and Mr.Ramdas Kelkar, author and retired Principal of Sapteshwar Higher Secondary School, Mandrem, detailed various promising career options and placement opportunities in the emerging fields of Science.
Mr.Ramdas Kelkar initiated the session. He focussed on the important skills and discipline required for careers and talked at length of the belief system students should develop to achieve success in life irrespective of the career they choose.

Dr. Yeshudas Muttu, furnished details of the career options in the field of engineering. He also spoke of the importance of a smart and attractive biodata besides highlighting the significant inventions by engineers and the entrance exams required to be answered.
Dr. Anand A. Mahajan, delivered a talk on ‘Planning careers in pharmacy’. He emphasized on various aspects viz. Competitive environment in pharmacy, research and development a lucrative option in pharma industries, manufacturing of Biologicals in pharmacy gaining popularity and the prospects of data analytics in pharmacy.
An open discussion followed during which students asked questions and sought information from the panel of experts.

A representative of Amrita Vishwa Vidypeetham University, an institution imparting value based education through global exposure, then briefed the students on the various courses that encourage experiential learning and international collaborations offered by the institution.
The concluding session of the event was an in depth interview with Mr Rajesh Tarkar, proprietor of Rajdeep Builders moderated by Mr Yeshwant Gaunkar. Mr Tarkar shared his inspiring and noteworthy entrepreneurial journey with the audience.
The programme was well appreciated by the participants.
