Institutional Policy

Don Bosco Higher Secondary School has established systems and procedures for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities. They provide guidance to members in a number of academic areas. The Higher Secondary School has regular maintenance and periodic replenishment of essential facilities.
The school policy is to have effective mechanism for the upkeep of the infrastructure and other facilities as to have optimum utilization of the facilities in order to have effective functioning of the school.



Rules of Conduct and Discipline



  1. The Salesian school/college give ample of scope for activities. It does not restrict itself to the classroom, but it combines study with art, sports, cultural and religious and social activity.

  2. Every Student should endeavor to maintain the high tone of the Don Bosco Institution, excelling in good manners and deportment.

  3. A student whose aim is not the formation of character, acquisition of competence or skill and all round formation should not venture to join this institution.

  4. Discipline is a must in a teaching-learning process.

  5. Irregular attendance, bad behavior, habitual idleness, disobedience, disrespect, copying during examinations and conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reason for the suspension or dismissal of a pupil.

  6. No student may leave the school premises during class hours, interval or free class periods without permission from the Principal. A student who fails to keep this rule will be dealt severely.

  7. Students should be regular to all classes and practicals. Absence from classes must be justified in writing in the handbook and in case of prolonged illness, A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE must be submitted.

  8. if an unauthorized absence from school exceeds 15 calendar days, the student's name may be struck off the school roll and he/she may not be readmitted. For long term sickness, a letter must be given to the school every 15 days giving the necessary details.

  9. Students must come to school in time. Students coming late must get their calendar signed by the teacher in-charge of discipline. They will be reported to the Principal if it becomes a regular feature.

  10. Students Handbook and Identity Card must be brought to school everyday.

  11. No student will be granted to leave without written application from his/hers parents. In every case permission is at the discretion of the Principal

  12. Students will not be allowed to meet visitors during school hours. In urgent cases the prior permission of the principal should be obtained.

  13. Students bunking class will be severely dealt with (Punishment includes suspension).

  14. Students are requested to keep their classes clean. The class teacher along with class representatives are to ensure that their respective classes are clean.

  15. All damage to school property must be made good at the cost of the offender

  16. Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings.

  17. Students must attend school in their full uniform which must conform to the Higher Secondary School model. If a students fails to conform to this rule the parents will be called to the school for an explanation.

  18. Attendance at classes and practicals is compulsory. If due to sickness one is not able to attend an examination/test the matter must be made known to the school authorities with proper medical document at the earliest.

  19. Students who do not have at least 75% attendance will not be sent up for the final examination. The guidelines of the Education Department will be followed in this regards.

  20. No collection will be allowed for any purpose whatsoever without the prior written permission of the Principal.

  21. Students are not permitted to bring mobile phones in the school campus. Strict action, not excluding suspension, will be taken against the defaulters.

  22. Strict action will be taken for misuse of cyber and Social Networking .

  23. Students are not permitted to bring their vehicles in the school campus.

  24. Possession and consumption of cigarettes, paan, gutka, drugs and chewing gum are strictly forbidden.

  25. Negative /wrong /non constructive publicity of the school caused by any student/parent can lead to the dismissal of the student.

  26. Readmission to std XII will be considered and permitted subject to the following criteria: behavior, adhering to correct uniform, attendance, late comings, late submission of assignments, adopting unfair means during exam and matters of gross indiscipline etc.

  27. In all questions of promotions or detention the Principal's decision is final. Guidelines of the State Educational Authorities will be followed in this regards.

  28. The PTA meetings and activities will be conducted as best dimmed fit by the management (Principal).

  29. All communication to the school must be addressed to the Principal.

  30. Don Bosco Higher Secondary school adheres to the rules and regulations of the pertinent departments of Govt. of Goa.

  31. Students joining Don Bosco Higher Secondary School are required to accept and observe all the rules and regulations of the school and undertake to to submit to the normal enforcement of the same to the satisfaction of the Principal whose decision in all matters shall be final. Violation of Rules and Regulations will entail punishment, including expulsion from the Higher Secondary School. Parents must sign a declaration regarding the code of conduct at the beginning of the year.
