On 5th July 2025, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim, joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Dominic Savio—a day dedicated to leadership, spirituality, and talent. The day began with a solemn Feast Mass, celebrated by Fr. Jason Coelho, a committed Salesian and advocate of the Don Bosco spirit. In his homily, Fr. Jason urged students to become “living examples of faith and goodness,” drawing inspiration from the life of Dominic Savio. He reminded them that holiness can be lived out through small daily acts of love, responsibility, and kindness.
Following the Mass was the Investiture Ceremony, where the newly elected student council pledged their commitment to serve the school community. Fr. Banzaleo Texeira, Vice Provincial of the Konkan Province, presided over the event and officially invested the leaders. He inspired them with the words: “True leadership begins with service and grows through example.”
The Annual Singing Competition, titled “The Hunt for DB’s Voice of Excellence.” was also held. Designed to provide a platform for students to showcase their musical talent while upholding the Bosco values of excellence, discipline, and teamwork, the event featured Solo and Duet performances from students across the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. Hosted by Kenrich Lopes and Nicole D’Souza (Std. XII), the competition was judged by musicians Zeus Mark Fernandes, Ms. Tabitha D’Mello, and Mr. Keanne Cotta, who also performed a surprise number.
Giana Alvares (XI Commerce A) secured first place in the Solo category, while Jayden Mascarenhas and Michelle Lobo (XII Commerce B) topped the Duet category. The event beautifully reflected Bosco values of excellence, discipline, and collaboration.
Principal Fr. Tamatur Cardozo congratulated the students and emphasized that excellence must be a consistent habit. The event concluded with an A cappella hymn by the Std. XII choir and the school prayer, capturing the Don Bosco spirit in its truest form.
