‘Vanamahotsava’ celebrated at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim

QUICK BITE -

The Vanamahotsava celebration at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panjim, held on July 3rd, 2024, aimed to spread awareness about the importance of forests, woodlands, and trees. This annual tree-planting festival serves as a poignant reminder of our symbiotic relationship with nature, urging us to tread lightly on our precious planet and renew our commitment to environmental stewardship. The ultimate goal is to plant the seeds for a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come

To mark the occasion, the Eco Club members enthusiastically planted trees on the school campus. Their cheerfulness was so infectious that it led to the distribution and exchange of plants among themselves. The students of the higher secondary took a pledge to grow and care for trees, highlighting their commitment to environmental conservation. The plant propagation ceremony, attended by the Student Council, was inaugurated by the administrator, Fr. Jacinto, who planted a tree to commemorate his birthday.

The main achievement of the celebration was the successful engagement of students and staff in environmental activities, fostering a sense of responsibility and dedication towards nature. The event also promoted practices such as reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, preparing compost, and conserving water. Embracing the spirit of Vanamahotsava, the school community reinforced their commitment to environmental well-being and sustainable living.
